The Basic Obedience Class is designed for the new handler and dog. It is a basic class for non-aggressive dogs with little to no obedience, and teaches the fundamentals of heel, sit, down, stay and recall commands. Dogs and handlers are evaluated at the end of the four-week sessions for progression to the next level of obedience.
The Advanced Obedience Class is designed for those who have successfully completed Basic Obedience training. This class emphasizes on building increased control of off-leash work, hand signals and agility training. Held in four-week sessions, each week builds on the prior week’s activities. Dog and handler must complete the Basic and Advanced Obedience classes or be evaluated by a K-9 Village Trainer before graduating this level.
An old dog can be taught new tricks and thankfully dog potty training is one of them. Ideally when you bring home your new dog from the pound or offer to dog sit for one of your friends, that dog’s potty training has already been completed so you are not left with the clean up. The unfortunate reality is a majority of people does not have their dog potty trained. A major mistake some dog owners make when starting the dog potty training process is the jump right into it without teaching their dog anything else. I believe in a process called shaping that teaches your dog to think for itself and solve problems on his own.
Agility is a fun class where the dog is led by the handler over, under and through a series of obstacle courses. This course builds upon obedience work by training the handler to remain in control while the dog is maneuvering through the agility course. Participants must have successfully completed at least the obedience classes to qualify.

ADVANCED PROTECTION
Detection work with dogs is gaining popularity throughout the world. From Police K9 to Military Working Dogs to commercial detection dogs, people recognize the value of a trained detection canine can bring to their organization. Our Detection Dog Trainer Program is designed to teach the fundamental skills necessary to be successful in the canine detection industry.
Training search and rescue dogs is a gradual and careful process because each dog responds differently. All dogs’ progress at different rates and their reactions to training challenges and rewards will also vary. We use a variety of subjects for mock search exercises and we rely on each other for support and advice.
Police Patrol Dogs are trained to guard an intruder being searched for weapons or contraband. The dog will react should there be any indication of aggression towards the handler or attempt to escape. The K9 can be left with the assailant until help arrives.
Police Patrol Dogs are trained in search in a multitude of disciplines, such as personnel search or article search in building, open-area or vehicle. Specialized training can also be added for search of specific explosive or narcotics detection.
The situations in which you are teaching your Dog to retrieve could prove useful. The process can be used to teach your partner to retrieve anything that is always in a fixed location, such as medication that’s kept on a low shelf in your bedroom, a phone on a low table in the hall, toilet paper stored on a low shelf in the closet, or glucose tablets in a kitchen drawer. As long as the object you’re teaching your partner to retrieve can always be found in the same place, you can teach your Dog to retrieve it on cue.

It is important to maintain your pet’s vaccination program. In dogs, vaccinations are required for Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Canine Cough.
Micro chipping of dogs and cats is now compulsory in Lebanon. It is recommended you have all of your pets’ micro chipped. The K-9 Village performs micro chipping for __ USD seven days per week.
All animals micro chipped through The K-9 Village are registered through the K-9 Village Accredited Systems.
The K-9 Village Clinic Team performs a wide range of orthopedic and soft tissue operations. The K-9 Village Hospital features modern diagnostic facilities, state-of-the-art surgical equipment, pathology equipment and the latest anesthesia equipment.
The K-9 Village Clinic offers the latest in pet dentistry, including ultrasonic scaling and high speed polishing. Dogs and cats need their teeth checked on an annual basis to prevent tooth decay and gum disease.
Bathing your dog can be difficult and messy, especially when your furry friend is unwilling! We offer dog grooming treatments including shampoo and conditioning, drying and nail clipping right here at the Clinic.
Pets aged seven years and over should be regularly checked for disease and health problems, which commonly affect our older beloveds. If checked regularly, most health issues can be prevented.
All types of parasites can be fatal if untreated, or if treated with the wrong medication. The Lost Dogs’ Home Veterinary Clinic Total Parasite Check up includes a general health check, flea check and treatment, heartworm blood test and intestinal worm check.
